Bella officially started daycare last week. I had no idea how hard it would be. I mean, she has stayed with family now for a while, and even with friends before. But leaving her in a room with 6 other babies and she wasn't the complete center of attention...man that was hard.
But what came as a surprise to me was that she almost seems happier with this. Well, not really happier, but happier with us. When she stayed with friends and family she was grumpy in the afternoon. I think they played all of her "happy" out of her, so she was a real grump by the time I saw her every day. But now, I go pick her up and she's happy to see me, and wants to play and be with me. Which is awesome. This morning, I wasn't super excited to find out that, of the 14 kids int he two infant rooms, only 7 were going to be at school today. Most are out because they're sick. That's scary. But there isn't much I can do about it.
So, the way it was described to me was: they are going to get sick and you are really really going to get sick for the first year of school. It could either happen now, when they're young and won't remember, or later - either way, the viruses that are everywhere on the planet will get into her system, get amplified and get passed to you. Stef and I are going through some of it now with Xander.
